Winter in the desert is sweet indeed. For most of the first two weeks, we had essentially cloudless skies, temps in the upper 70s, and little wind. Mornings and evenings were cooler, in the 40s, so only lunch was a patio meal. But for a family from central Maine, even being able to walk outside without watching for icy patches and slush is a bonus. This week is rainy and all meals are inside. But the rainbows are nice (viewed from our patio) and the clouds over the mountains fun to see.
Both Marty and Bob are running or biking daily and Julia has been riding her bike as well as her scooter. The pool and hot tub are also getting plenty of use.
The Coachella Valley is home to one of the largest wind farms in the U.S. Above is a shot from one of our hikes.
