The Tour de Palm Springs attracts many thousands of riders to the Coachella Valley for a weekend of exhibits, vendors, and a very scenic 100-mile bike race that goes through five cities. Marty trained for this century ride for over a month. Fortunately, she had come to know Nancy through the Desert Bike Club, which organizes rides every Saturday morning from Palm Desert. By mid-afternoon, she had met her goal and the 100 miles were behind her. Many riders came in later; few of them smiling.
